Reena is an Indian film actress best known for her work in Malayalam cinema. She was one of the lead actress during the late 1970s. She has acted in more than 100 films. She has acted in few Tamil, Kannada, Telugu movies as well.Currently she is focussing more on Television series. Reena was born to Peter Reskyuna and Jessy in 1958 at Mangalore. She has a brother, Ivan. She pursued bachelor's degree from Madras Presentation College, Perumbavoor. She is married to Issac. They have two sons, Alan and Abin. She started her career at 14, in Chukku movie as Sheela's daughter. She started production company, V.I.C and produced movies Druvasankamam and Ente Kadha. Now she is acting in Tele films and soap operas. Currently she is acting in Aniyathi serial in Mazhavil Manorama.

Unni (Dileep) has many debts and no way to repay them. He decides to commit suicide so that his parents can use the insurance money to repay the debts, but he is saved by a fisherman named Gangadharan (Cochin Haneefa) and his employee Ramanan (Harisree Ashokan). When they notice Unni drowning, Unni pretends to be deaf and mute so that he can fake his death and the insurance money reaches his family. Gangadharan however has a debt of his own, to a Punjabi family of money lenders who have settled in Kerala. He is forced to make Unni and Ramanan to work at their home until he can repay it. A series of interesting events follow after Unni meets Pooja (Mohini) at the house, who is deaf and mute.

The conspiracy against Selvanayagam was in fact planned by the corrupt politician P.K.R and his son Vasu. Later, Divya gets married with Vasu but the sadistic Vasu tortures Divya. The rest of the story is Shanmuga Pandian proves his father's innocence and revenge the villains with the help of Divya and Nandhini.

It bagged the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for Lakshmi, Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for Adoor Bhasi who played Laxmi's alcoholic father, and the Filmfare Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam. Storywriter Pamman received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Story. It has the distinction of being the first Malayalam film to run continuously for 40 weeks in a Bangalore theatre. All Songs composed by well known music director G. Devarajan were instant hits.
