Today, Leonor, a young teacher, flees to a small town in the mountains to try to recover from the death of her husband and the loss of the baby she was expecting. He takes refuge in the daily activity with the school children and the friendship he establishes with Miguel, a forestry agent. But the hostility of the inhabitants of the region and some visions that torment her lead her to believe that she is going crazy, as if an irresistible mysterious force led her to be related to that story of betrayal and death of seven hundred years ago. "La Loba", a strange woman despised by all, will end up revealing the truth of that fascinating and wonderful story.

This movie has any coherent plot. It is more the portrait of the lives of different people in the hard years of post-war in Spain (the 40's), and how people manage to survive in a country desolated by the war. Like other films: la colmena or roma (fellini) it shows us lots of characters and some moments of their lives.

Some urchins simulate an accident and steal a wallet. To their surprise, it turns out to be that of the famous footballer Alfredo Di Stefano, popularly known as "La Saeta Rubia". Driven by the admiration for their idol, the urchins decide to return it. At this time, Di Stefano and his wife establish a great friendship with the guys and project together the creation of the football team "Saeta".

Madrid, 1939, at the end of the Spanish Civil War. Five infantry soldiers of the victorious side take a photograph of themselves somewhere in the defeated city, promising to meet again ten years later at the same place.

A Spanish folk group goes to Paris hired by a French businessman, but he runs away, leaving them without resources. Pastora, beautiful Seville, reminds that she has a friend in Paris who is painter. Her companions and her ask him for help to return to Spain. The painter wants to help them but first he have to sell a paint to a wealthy Englishman to get resources. The Englishman goes to his place and fall in love with Pastora, and instead of buying the paint suggests to pay the return trip for all of them if Pastora stays with him in Paris.
