History

Susan Hannah Hadary has been honored with an Academy Award, national Emmy nominations, regional Emmy awards, the Peabody Award, and numerous international awards. Her documentaries on Advocacy for Mainstreaming include King Gimp, Bong and Donnell, Beginning with Bong, Rachael - Being Five, Rachael - In Middle School, Shakissha and Friends, and Sarah's Graduation. Other Hadary award-winning documentaries are Love, Josh; Grace; Marge and Walter; and Departing Rosewood. Her national releases include several series for Discovery Health and Discovery Life featuring the Shock Trauma Center and University of Maryland School of Medicine students in a series entitled MedSchool. She has had three documentaries released on HBO and several programs released, with more forthcoming, on Maryland Public Television (MPT).

Director
chronicles the life of Josh Keogh, a 15-year-old whose family was shattered when his father died of liver cancer only six weeks after being diagnosed. Filmed over the course of a year, the documentary begins only a few months after James Keogh's death and candidly captures the emotions the grieving son hid from his family and friends.
King Gimp
Director
King Gimp is a 1999 documentary that was awarded the 2000 Academy Award for Best Short Subject Documentary and 2000 Peabody Award. "King Gimp" followed the life of artist Dan Keplinger of Towson, Maryland, who has cerebral palsy. Filmmakers Susan Hannah Hadary and William A. Whiteford, of the University of Maryland Video Press and Tapestry International Productions produced the film.
