Vivian Bernaise is the star of the Hamburg drag scene. After a glamorous performance in the Hamburg drag club "Die Donauwelle", she witnesses a mafia attack and has to flee. Vivian becomes Volker – and disguised as a straight man, she hides with the family of the elementary school teacher Katja in the rural areas of Schleswig-Holstein.

Stefan Gabriel is an active father always looking at life positively. While he tries to give back to society, his daughters Jessica (12) and Sabrina (15) struggle with their own problems. Jessica is often mistaken for a boy and has to deal with her many ticks. She would happily swap places with Sabrina, who, despite her illness, appears to have her life completely under control. But the more Sabrina’s health worsens, the worse Jessica’s ticks become. The girls need a plan and fast. They come across a special ritual in an old book, which could be their rescue. But the girls first have to find a boy to sleep with Sabrina. They don’t have much time left and Jessica puts all she has got into implementing the life-saving plan, no matter how crazy it may be.

Three women, one family: Monika the mother, Angie the older sister and Kiki the baby of the family. Angie is a reality-TV star who is doggedly clinging onto her fading career. Fresh out of rehab, she suddenly finds herself without any money, friends or a place to live and is condemned to returning to her mother in her hated dump of a hometown. Angie's teenage sister Kiki is also finding life tough-going. Due to her epilepsy, her mother Monika insists that she wears a freaky protective helmet. The consequence: Kiki is ostracised and bullied, her life has long since become the hell from which her mother is trying to protect her.

One could almost believe, two fresh lovers would kiss here tenderly. In fact, Jan and Katja come straight from the divorce judge who finished what had started promisingly - a harmonious, fulfilled marriage and family life. The common house building was too much for their relationship. While a dream came true for Katja, the building was a pure torture for Jan. He escaped more and more and started an affair. When Katja comes after the infidelity, there is only one consequence for her: Divorce.
