Akira Takeuchi

History

Akira Takeuchi (竹内昭, Takeuchi Akira, December 19, 1960) is an animator, animation director and mechanical designer from Osaka Prefecture, Japan. He has worked as an animator on several animes, such as Clever Sarutobi (Sasuga no Sarutobi), Captain Tsubasa, and High School! Kimengumi. He also has worked as a mechanical designer in series such as Game Center Arashi, Clever Sarutobi (Sasuga no Sarutobi) and Saiyuki. Since around 2012 he started being credited as 竹内アキラ, but sometimes is also credited as 竹内昭. In some of his works, he is credited under the name of 竹内あきら. The reading of all three credit names is Akira Takeuchi. Not to be confused with the character designer Akira Takeuchi (武内啓).

Sho and his friend Tetsurou stumble upon an odd alien artifact while walking through the woods. Kuroi Ame ni Utarete tells the interlocking stories of a group of survivors who frequent Stand Akauma, a bar: Takeshi, who lost his entire family; Tomoko, a prostitute horribly burned in the bombing; her younger brother Junji, who scrabbles on the fringes of society; Eiko, a pregnant young woman whom he loves; and Yuri, another prostitute who is determined to secure a brighter future for her blind son.
