History

Akira Takeuchi (竹内 昭, Takeuchi Akira, December 19, 1960) is an animator, animation director and mechanical designer from Osaka Prefecture, Japan. He has worked as an animator on several animes, such as Clever Sarutobi (Sasuga no Sarutobi), Captain Tsubasa, and High School! Kimengumi. He also has worked as a mechanical designer in series such as Game Center Arashi, Clever Sarutobi (Sasuga no Sarutobi) and Saiyuki. Since around 2012 he started being credited as 竹内アキラ, but sometimes is also credited as 竹内 昭. In some of his works, he is credited under the name of 竹内あきら. The reading of all three credit names is Akira Takeuchi. Not to be confused with the character designer Akira Takeuchi (武内 啓).
