Kotaro and Yoko are headed back from a high school reunion, when on the way a tennis umpire’s chair blocks their path, and the person who has come to pick it up is someone that Kotaro used to teach at a cram school, and he asks for their help to take it to the local tennis club.
Different people and five different families are acting out various scenarios, scripts and what-ifs. First there is the four Suzuki family members, who are not, sitting around a table in isolation. Then there is the unveiling of a will and what happens when it is read out, there are the sisters who are at it against each other, then there is the funeral that does not go according to plan and more.
Kazuya Naruse, an obedient programer falls for a girl "Rumi", whom he gets to know through chat rooms. Naruse lost himself in this love, as if he lives in another world. Rumi has a mentally ill husband. Spending time with these two, the illusion of love in Naruse gradually changes to uneasiness and insanity.
