​From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.   Simon Wells (born 1961 in Cambridge, England) is a British director and one of the employees who worked for Amblimation. He is the great grandson of H. G. Wells. Wells started his career at Richard Williams Animation, he worked as supervising animator for Robert Zemeckis's Who Framed Roger Rabbit. He later contributed with Zemeckis on Back to the Future Part II, and Back to the Future Part III. He is best known for directing The Time Machine (2002 remake). He also directed An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, Balto, The Prince of Egypt and the film adaptation of We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story. He is nominated for the 34th Annual Annie Awards "Storyboarding in an Animated Feature Production" for his boarding of Flushed Away. Wells also worked on digital visual development on The Polar Express. He was a sequence supervisor on Kung Fu Panda and directed Mars Needs Moms.
