Second Chance interweaves three stories of three women living in the same block of flats, creating a kaleidoscopic observation of the experience of being a mother and the self-sacrifice involved in bringing another life into this world. At a time of absurdities as Macedonia teeters on the brink of civil war, each of these women struggle to find meaning in their existence, each facing their own demons while trying to preserve their humanity.

"Glas" is the most widely circulated newspaper in the country. Editor-in-Chief Gligor agrees with a government minister to bring him into bankruptcy with one goal - to buy him cheap. To that end, they are appointing Anna as the newspaper's new director. Anna is a young journalist, full of enthusiasm, but inexperienced. She believes that the dirty and criminal games in the country are not the most important for a newspaper. In that sense, it's changing the newspaper's editorial policy - it no longer writes about the underworld. The circulation of the newspaper is declining day by day. Faced with the drop in circulation, she is in a dilemma, whether to continue to cover up the dirty things around her or to start publishing them, that is, to expose them…
Neil

Neil is a young man who is afflicted with premature aging. He also suffers from intense agoraphobia and so his mother Kate has brought an entire building where Neil can roam free inside. Neil is tended by a psychologist Donna who tries to help him get over his fear of going outside. Kate has also been inspiring Neil to experiment with astral projection as a means of visiting the outside world and he has been having some success with this. Military officers then arrive and demand that Neil teach them the secrets of astral projection. When Neil refuses, they reveal that they paid for the building and instituted Donna there. While he sleeps, Neil is visited by a mystery woman who insists that he is her husband Alexander and that they lived together in Sarajevo before the war.
