Sabrina Poon
History
Nicknamed Spoon, she is a director and producer who always takes a hands-on approach at the start of each project. Her experiences include working with ad agencies and direct clients on branded content, online campaigns and commercials. She graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, received a Diploma with Merit in Film, Sound & Video, and has a Bachelor Degree in Professional Communication (RMIT).
She is a recipient of the Akanga Film Asia Prize in scriptwriting, Cathay Organization Film Prize, and was also awarded the Shaw Foundation Silver Medal & Prize. Her works have went on to the 6th Singapore Indie Documentary Fest, 6th Singapore Short Films, International Beijing Film Academy Awards, London The Smalls Film Festival and National Youth Film Awards. Her more recents clinch includes Best Editing for Sylvia in NYFA, and Best Screenplay and People's Choice Award for Pa in Shorties International Film Festival. One of her short film, "Heng's Popiah" was also screened island-wide.
In her directing career, she has helmed ten narrative short films and a documentary short, which have been screened on film festivals and online media. Her recent short films “Sylvia” and "Pa" are released and available on Viddsee. In 2019 , she is the Director and showrunner of a Viddsee Original series,
"Way Back When".
Sabrina (S.poon) believes that there are always stories to be told and conveyed in an interesting perspective. She is always up for new challenges and eager for collaborations to kickstart the right ideas for the right purposes.
