Plastic Sonata
Director
A building in Singapore. Inside it, three people seemingly disconnected not only from each other but from the world as a whole. Social distancing is not just a WHO health protocol, it is a state of being among people within a society that, instead of living, performs life. An audiovisual work that manages to think of the pandemic as an aesthetic experience, an atmosphere, and not as a “theme”.
What About Farquhar?
Director
In a quiet HDB void deck, one chinese man rants and raves. Believing himself to be the colonial administrator William Farquhar, the man preaches of the contributions he has made to Singapore, in comparison to his superior Stamford Raffles. Oblivious and bored, everyone ignores him. But the man continues his tirade towards the camera. Who is he even talking to?

Where the Light Shines Through
Cinematography
Where The Light Shines Through documents the genesis and evolution of Rirkrit Tiravanija’s untitled 2018 (the infinite dimensions of smallness) for National Gallery Singapore’s Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden Commission. From the sourcing and transformation of bamboo in Chiang Mai, to its installation in Singapore, the documentary gives rare insights into the making of the artwork. By tracing Rirkrit's thoughts and portraying his cultural and spiritual environment, it offers broader understanding of his artistic practice. Structured around three meals, from day to night, the film meditates on the differences and similarities between two cities where the work was developed.
