Three-time Dallas Winds award winning composer Christian Kolo is a recent graduate from The University of Southern California Thornton School of Music where he received a Masters Degree in Screen Scoring. Kolo was born in West Bloomfield, Michigan, a suburb of Metro-Detroit. A graduate of Michigan State University, Kolo studied music composition with Zhou Tian and Ricardo Lorenz, receiving high honors for his academic achievements. Kolo currently resides in the greater Los Angeles area where he composes, orchestrates, and conducts film and media music along with concert works from his studio, Christian Kolo Music.

Henry Baltimore was the first African American drum major of the Michigan State Spartan Marching Band. In 1973, Henry was robbed at gunpoint in his apartment. The two African American men who robbed him tied him to his bed and pistol-whipped him. One of the men was identified as Roy Davis from Flint, Michigan. Henry reported the crime to the police, but when the arraignment hearing came around, Henry did not show up. His car was at his apartment, but Henry himself was nowhere to be found.
