Born in Livorno, Tuscany, artist Amedeo Modigliani (1884–1920) lived a short, tormented life, narrated here from an original point of view, that of his young common-law wife, Jeanne Hébuterne.

The body of a young hooker is found one night in the center of Rome, killed with a single gunshot. By questioning the pimp who exploited the young woman, and the former prostitute who was the woman's best friend, two police officers will solve the mystery.

This short film is a playful stream of crude human emotions. Fantastical hallucinatory moments of passion, cruelty, loneliness, disconnection and love unfold humorously in a simple and innocent form but with deep, sometimes dark meanings. Hypnotic music accompanies a dance of lines that reinvents itself with each new squiggle of the artist's pencil.
