Ahmad and Nuri work in the same bank in Jakarta. Ahmad loves Nuri, but Nuri has set her heart on Yanto from Bandung. Unfortunately, Yanto is attracted to Lila, while Lila is interested in Darso, the brother of Nuri. This five-sided love story becomes more colourful when Lila’s father’s cheque disappears. Then the bank sends Ahmad to investigate the case.

Nina, becomes a bone of contention for her two male school friends. Unfortunately the two men had become victims of a misunderstanding. One is because of the carelessness of Nina's maid, while the other is because he sees a widower who is thought to be proposing to Nina. After he finishes his prison sentence, he tries to find Srihati at the village but she is already married to Kasim. So Arman becomes the dust of revolution, blown by the wind to nothingness.

He leaves his wife and kids in the village. But Jakarta turns out to be a horrible city and Mulyono has bad luck until he finds work at a gas station. One of his customers is Nani who asks him to work at her father’s office. Soon, they become husband and wife and Mulyana forgets about his family back home.

Suparto is a middle-ranked officer who is moved to Jakarta. In the city, he meets Harjiman, the licensing importer. Then Harjiman introduces him to Roostinah whose task is to seduce Suparto for help in securing the import licenses. Suparto's wife, Sulastri, comes to Jakarta when she hears about her husband's unfaithfulness. Then Suparto realizes that Roostinah is sent to seduce him, but when he returns to Sulastri, she rejects him. His crime is discovered and Suparto is sent to prison. When he completes his sentence, Suparto joins the migration to Sumatra. Then Sulastri accepts him again.
