Tara Sheffer

History

Tara Sheffer is a Southern director and producer from Arkansas. She has produced films internationally and participated in the 2019 Woman at Sundance Strategy Intensive in New York City. She has a diverse background in development and production and her credits include associate producer of development where she developed WE BOUGHT THE FARM (HGTV), true crime television writer and researcher, Scott Rudin’s assistant, and coordinator at the Department of Motion Pictures. Tara most recently produced SXSW Official Selection PLAISIR (dir. Molly Gillis) and line-produced Oscar-Nominated short film THE LETTER ROOM (dir. Elvira Lind). Tara’s films have been exhibited in several international film festivals. Tara is now an MFA candidate at New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Kanbar Institute of Film & Television Graduate Film. She is a Graduate Assistant, Tisch Scholar, and the recipient of the Sara Driver Film Production Award, the Robert Jahn Scholarship, and the Peter Gould Scholarship. Tara also has a small creative production company called Boop Slate Films with her producing partner, Bianca Di Marco.
