Martina Barreca

History

After graduating cum laude in Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Florence, she began studying opera singing with Patrizia Morandini, later pursuing it with Susanna Rigacci and Patrizia Cigna. Between 2014 and 2015 she attended the masterclass of bel canto taught by Mara Zampieri, Montserrat Caballé and Roberto De Candia. In 2016 she was a finalist in the Concorso Omega Musica and won the role of Zerlina in Mozart's "Don Giovanni". In 2021 she won the Concorso Barocco Europeo in Sacile.

"L'impresario delle Canarie" is a satirical opera intermezzo libretto attributed to Pietro Metastasio, written in 1724 to be performed between the acts of his opera seria "Didone abbandonata". Dorina, an opera singer, waits impatiently for the visit of a foreign impresario, Nibbio.
