Shinya Hiratake (1981 Tokyo, Japan ) started film making at the Tama Art University, where he graduated in 2004.

ABURIDASHI: Video Letters written in invisible ink
This work is an experimental documentary animation by the traditional Japanese technique of "ABURIDASHI". And it's consists of three parts: Beginning, Middle, and End. "Beginning" is a personal video made to celebrate the director's friend Hiratake-san. "Middle" is about Hiratake-san's anger at the government responses to the Great East Japan earthquake. "End" is about the fear of war in which get involved individuals. This work depicts how Nonoho Suzuki perspective changes from an individual to a nation over a period of 10 years.

Adventure of a Japanese boy who wanders in France where the violence of a strange environment and strange language penetrate his mind and he starts to have incoherent illusions. What happens to the boy between illusions printed in him and tyrannically cruel reality? The work was animated with 6,000 wood block prints to express the gaps and shakes of megalomaniac illusions.
