Jonny Pelham
History
Jonny Pelham was born with popliteal pterygium syndrome, which affects around 200 people in the UK and comes with a comically rich collection of physical abnormalities. His routines often draw on his experiences with the NHS, (where he was offered plastic surgery he didn’t think he needed) and being sent to ‘Camp Courage’ for disabled children. Born to therapist parents in Bradford, Pelham one of the few white kids in a multi-ethnic school and the one white member of an all-Bengali gang, further contributing to his outsider-status which heavily informs his material.
