Nathan Xia
History
Nathan Henry Xia (born October 14, 1999) is an award-winning film director hailing from San Diego, California. At 19, he wrote, directed, and acted in the viral film “Goodnight America” alongside Netflix’s beloved Cobra Kai actors Jacob Bertrand & Xolo Maridueña. At 20, he wrote and directed “Oh, Mighty Ocean!” (starring Jack Griffo, Peyton List, and Jacob Bertrand) which has played at prestigious film festivals such as the Beverly Hills Film festival, the Pasadena International Film Festival, the Toronto Independent Film Festival, and continues traveling throughout the festival circuit today. At 21, he wrote, directed, and acted in his debut feature film, “Chasing Sundance” alongside long-time collaborator Jacob Staudenmaier. Asides from narrative filmmaking, Xia also directs music videos, providing him with the opportunities to experiment stylistically and create powerful visuals. Xia’s passion for music transcends music videos as he makes his own songs, tapping into the pop-rock and indie-rock sphere. At the end of the day, Xia is a storyteller and strives to share his perspective on the world whether it be through feature films, short films, music videos, or music.
