History

Shrutiman Deori is a cinematographer/filmmaker from Assam, North-east India. He holds a Diploma degree in Sound Engineering from School of Audio Engineering (SAE), Chennai. He primarily works in the audio visual medium wherein he explores the politics of indigeneity, environment and community. Shrutiman's first short film as a director, Ne Sotal (My Courtyard)had its Indian premiere in Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) in 2021 and won a silver award in a filmmaking competition by Public Service Broadcasting Trust (PSBT). He was selected in a Cinematography Mentorship Program offered by The Indian Society of Cinematographers under the mentorship of Pankaj Kumar (ISC) in 2021.
