Daniel Costelle (né le 11 mai 19361 à Livry-Gargan2) est un documentariste et auteur de télévision qui a réalisé de nombreux documentaires et un film de long-métrage, Apparitions, en 1991. Il a reçu les insignes de chevalier de la Légion d'honneur3 des mains du ministre de la Culture, Jean-Jacques Aillagon, le 17 juin 2003. En recevant cette distinction, Daniel Costelle a tenu à préciser qu'« à travers lui, ce sont tous ceux qui se préoccupent de conserver les archives filmées de ce siècle qui sont récompensés »4.
