Junior is not eager to have his new pet devoured and protects him from Charlie at all costs. He even tries to disguise the fowl as his friend, Redneck Rudy, a protest singer. Finally, Charlie captures the turkey and beats it senseless. Feeling bad, he revives it and they make up. He decides to have hot dogs for Sunday dinner instead.

Colonel Rimfire chases Cool Cat into a deserted house. Unfortunately, they are not alone. A ghost tries to befriend the two, but neither of them want to be friends with him because he is a spook.

Story
Merlin and Second Banana are thrown off a train. Merlin produces a feast from his hat; Lo, the Poor Indian sees this and covets the hat. He grabs it, but his attempts to use it backfire, and Merlin tricks him repeatedly during the ensuing chase. Lo finally gets the hat again; Merlin says he can have it, but first they need to smoke the peace pipe: a giant bomb. Merlin gets to his performance, and it turns out to be an audience full of Indians, who attack.

Charlie trips on a hole in his carpet and decides the family needs a new one. He buys one but decides to install it himself (rather than hiring a professional). Things do not go smoothly. He gets in hot water with a policeman on the way home and breaks a window with the carpet upon returning.

He dresses as a tackling dummy which leads to disaster. He also gets the football caught in his mouth several times. Finally, he attempts to kick a field goal but the football has been set up a little too close to a water spigot and Charlie kicks the latter instead!

Junior is a participant in a nightclub dancing contest and is declared the winner. His prize is a pet monkey whom Junior names, "Bunkey", and takes home with him. Unfortunately, he isn't quite sure what his parents will think of their new "guest" and is determined to keep the simean hidden from them. Unfortunately, the ape makes all kinds of noise which cause Charlie and Bessie to think a prowler is loose in the house. After disguising the chimp as a baby, Charlie discovers the ape and exclaims, "Either that monkey goes or I go." The family waves good-bye to Charlie who leaves the house, suitcase packed!

Inspector Willoughby, the famed criminologist and master of mystery, travels to India to aid a rajah whose favorite royal elephant has been abducted by an evil swami. Encouraged at the prospect of a large reward, our heroic sleuth is hot in pursuit of the princely pachyderm and his kidnapper. Willoughby discovers the thief's hideout quite accidentally when he hears an elephant's trumpet and inquires at a nearby home, "Pardon me, are there any stolen elephants in there?"

This was the only made-for-TV Woody Woodpecker cartoon in "The Woody Woodpecker Show"; the only other made-for-TV cartoons in the program (except for the framing segments) were the 1960 Sam 'n Simian pilot "The Jungle Medics" and the 1963 Space Mouse pilot "The Secret Weapon."

The scientist decides to cross the ape with a woodpecker and create a flying ape. Woody naturally doesn't want the experiment to take place and tries to flee the scientist's house after being captured. In the end, though, it's the ape who gets the last laugh...

Space Mouse chooses a Siamese cat disguise.. Before he leaves, though, King-Size hands him a pill telling him to swallow it if he gets into inescapable trouble. When Space Mouse wants to know what the pill will do, King Size claims all he knows is that all secret agents take along some kind of pill for emergencies.

They try using a fishing rod only to hook each other. The crow sneaks across in a pair of underwear but is discovered by the fox. The crow tries sleepwalking but is again discovered. After feuding with each other through the phone, they attack each other and a free-for-all ensues. Finally, the crow decides this sparring isn't worth it and insists the fox can have the last grape. The fox, now equally courteous, offers it to the crow who doesn't want it. At this point, the feuding begins anew.

Hayseed Egghead arrives in the big city of Bagdad and quickly wins a magic lamp in a carnival coin-operated crane game. The shady character who was playing the game before him covets the lamp, and tries to steal it. Egghead sees a poster: The sultan is having a contest for his daughter's hand in marriage. With his lamp, Egghead thinks he's a sure bet; he conjures up a magic carpet, and he's off. After a couple bad vaudeville acts, it's Egghead's turn, but in the meantime, the bad guy swapped the lamp for a coffeepot. Egghead is thrown out, then sees the bad guy using the lamp; Egghead breaks in, steals the lamp and the girl, and flies off. But she uses the lamp herself to conjure up a real hunk to replace the nerdy Egghead.

At the Katnip Kollege, we see a roomful of cats taking a course in Swingology. Everyone swings except Johnny, who can't cut it and has to sit in the dunce chair. Miss Kitty Bright tells him to look her up when he learns how to swing. Finally, listening to the pendulum clock at night, Johnny gets the beat. He rushes out to where everyone is playing and sings "Easy As Rollin' Off a Log" to Kitty Bright. She joins in; he grabs a trumpet for an instrumental break, with the complete band. They both fall off a log; she covers him with kisses.

A small girl makes her living selling matches on the streets of New York. It's winter, and the hustling crowds at best ignore her, and some are outright rude. She takes shelter and, to try to stave off the cold a bit, lights a match. It gets blown out; this happens again, then on the third try, she falls into a dream. In this dream, cherubs attend her, she gets a new doll, then a new dress. The cherubs put her on a throne. Then a storm comes, and she goes toward a candle. That candle goes out, and we see that back in the real world, so did her match and her life. An angel comes along and takes her soul.
