September 1980. Mustafa 'Mehmet Ali Alabora' and his wife, who're both laborers are married for 5 years. The couple has nothing to do with politics and spend their days happily with their 3 year old daughter and their TV, despite the clamor of guns clashing outside every night. One Friday morning, they wake up and hear the voice of Hasan Mutlucan on radio and observe soldiers marching through the streets, the very confirmation of the military coup that has taken place. Arrests begin instantly in workplace and neighborhood. Yet Mustafa, far from being disturbed, assumes that all apprehensions must have rightful reasons. Kirmizi is the Turkish word for red. The Woman in Red was a mid-80s comedy hit which starred and was directed by Gene Wilder. It was based on a French film called "Pardon Mon Affaire" with the great Jean Rochefort in the lead. "Asik Oldum-I Feel in Love" is based on "The Woman in Red" and even has that certain Stevie Wonder which Jack Black so despised in "High Fidelity" in its' soundtrack.

In the film, which takes place between students and teachers in a girls' high school, İlyas replaces the teacher who was expelled from the school because he had a relationship with a female student. Students who do not forgive the expulsion of their previous teacher do their best to have İlyas fired as well.

Lazy, uneducated students mostly coming from money, share a very close band. They live together in the dormitory of this private highschool, where they daily plan their latest pranks on teachers or the other classes. Especially, the new teacher for literature receives his share.

A film director comes to Stockholm claiming he is an internationally renowned filmmaker. The truth is that he is a total failure. He is counting on that his compatriots have saved big money working in Sweden. Money he intend to spend on making a film.
