History
Vijayan was an Indian actor, primarily concentrated in Malayalam and Tamil films. He was a saleable hero of Tamil films in late 70s. Later he was a much sought-after character actor. Post 2000, most the films he appeared crossed 100 days. He died following a cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Chennai in 2007, at this moment, he was shooting for Aayudham Seivom. He was not only one of the more popular actors in Tamil cinema of his time, but also a scenarist and had also edited a magazine. Vijayan was married and was the father of a daughter.
Divya's father

Ilango's Father
The story focuses on five friends at the Madras Institute of Technology, who want to remain friends and hope to join the same company after graduation. The friends force Elango to visit his wife before leaving for Bombay and put him on a train. But Elango manages to get off the train and from there loses touch with his friends and family in the village. The friends part and six years later, two of the five come back to join the two girls in Chennai. On the train in the journey back, Prabhu, one of the friends, and Ilango's wife Eashwari meet each other. Prabhu falls in love with Eashwari without realizing who she is.
When the movie opens Devan(Arun Pandiyan) murdering photographer Jeeva(Thalaivasal Vijay) in cold blood in his house. Jeeva strategically positions a video camera to capture the impending murder but Devan never shows his face to it. And when Jeeva shouts out the name of his killer before dying, the audio is lost at that point. While the police search for the killer, Devan zeroes in on Chetta (Saikumar) as his next target. He follows Chetta to Chandigarh but is apprehended by CBI officer Ratnavel(Vijayakanth). But once Ratnavel realises Chetta's true nature, he begins to help Devan, even hiring successful lawyer Chakravarthy(Karthik) to fight for him. The flashback shows that Devan's sister (Kausalya) was killed by Chetta, Devan wants to avenge the death of his sister. In the climax, villain is killed.
