Self
A biographical study of legendary actress Charlotte Rampling, told through her own conversations with artist friends and collaborators, including Peter Lindbergh, Paul Auster, and Juergen Teller. Intercut with footage from some of Rampling's most famous films, this "self-portrait through others" is a revealing look at one of our most iconic screen stars.
Fathers' Day
Director
In this comedy, Thomas and Stephane are a couple of gay men who want to raise a baby. When their efforts to adopt one fall through, they hit on the scheme of having Carole, the (gorgeous) young woman they have saved from a bad relationship, bear a child for them. When she insists that only natural reproduction methods be used, they gamely play good sports by going to bed with her, and become the father(s) of twins.
Sadness and Beauty
Writer
Hugo is a writer whose one great book was based on an affair he had with Lea, a sculptor. Bereft of inspiration for a follow-up, Hugo returns years later to rekindle the flame of romance and creativity.
