Shizuku Tsukishima is a 3rd grade middle school student. She likes reading books. Shizuku meets Seiji Amasawa who is in the same grade and school that Shizuku attends. At first, she does not like him, but she becomes fascinated with his pursuit of his dream. Seiji also knows Shizuku's dream is to become a novelist. They vow to each other to achieve their dreams. Ten years later, Shizuku gave up her dream of becoming a novelist and now works as an editor for a publishing company that specializes in children's books. She struggles in her daily life at work. Meanwhile, Seiji is abroad and still pursuing his dream.

An old house stands amongst newly built buildings, as if it has been left behind. Tamako, a popular fortune teller, has been living there alone with her son, Tadao, for years. Because he has intellectual disability and autism, their neighbors often complain about his unpredictable behaviors. One day, Tamako is informed that a room is available in a group home owned by a company that runs the community workshop Tadao works at. Residents there all have intellectual disability but are living together to be independent from their families. Tamako decides to let Tadao move into the group home, but the sudden change of environment confuses him.

Hiroshi, who runs a mental clinic, has never recovered from the shock of his wife’s suicide. One day, Ayako, a mysterious patient comes to his clinic….

Sawako worked as an emergency physician at a university hospital. Due to to a situation, she returns to her father Tatsuro's home in Ishikawa Prefecture. She then begins to work at the local Mahoroba Clinic. She works with the clinic director Toru, Nurse Mayo and staff Seiji. Seiji, who worked with Sawako at the university hospital, followed her and works with her again. Mahoroba Clinic provides home healthcare to patients. Sawako visits the patients' homes and provides treatment there. At first, she has a hard time due to the different system. After one of their shoplifting sessions, Osamu and his son come across a little girl in the freezing cold. One is the Nokusu who were infected with a virus but survived and consequently they carry an antibody. Most are young, healthy and have high intelligence, but they have a high sensitivity to ultraviolet rays and are active mostly during the night. The other group are the Kyurio. They survived by never having the virus. The Nokusu discriminates against the Kyurio. Tetsuhiko Okudera is a Kyurio. He was born in a poor village. He isn't happy with being a Kyurio and wishes he could be a Nokusu. Yui Ikuta is Tetsuhiko’s childhood friend. She tries to revive the poor village.

The 11th popular series in which Kyosuke Kamizu, a university professor and a famous detective, challenges the mystery of the murder case. A bank clerk Fukushima was killed by a cyanide compound on a crowded train. Newspaper reporter Yamashita and colleague Kaori, who were on board, immediately started interviewing. In addition, Kaori asked Kyosuke Kozu (Masaomi Kondo), a university professor who had previously elucidated the murder of prussic acid by tablets, for cooperation. As a result of the investigation, it is discovered that Fukushima, who was killed, violently attacked a female college student with his colleagues and forced him to commit suicide...

Kyosuke (Masaomi Kondo) and his sister Nobuko (Yoko Moriguchi) were invited to the 10th anniversary party of the travel agency "Pigeon". Yoko has a relationship with Kawahara, and Ito, who died, was confused because she had an affair with her secretary, Masae. Takashi is said to have already left home and is living on his own.
