Meanwhile, the country undergoes a political transformation.

Muriel and her mother leave their home for good and a freak occurrence leaves them stranded in the country. They beg a woman to let them stay and a shaky friendship develops between the two families.

While filming a movie, famous Spanish actor Julio Arenas disappears without a trace. Although his body is never found, the police conclude that he has suffered an accident at a cliff by the sea.
