Mitsuru Hongo (本郷 みつる, Hongō Mitsuru, born October 12, 1959) is an anime director born in Tokyo and raised in Niigata Prefecture. In addition to his real name 本郷満 (Hongō Mitsuru), he also uses the aliases ほんごうみつる (Hongō Mitsuru), 郷満 (Mitsuro Gō), 潮乱太 (Ranta Ushio), 渋谷ポチ (Shibuya Pochi), and 猫賀大介 (Nekoga Daisuke).

Long ago, the legends say, there was a secret army. Unseen until needed, these warriors struck from the shadows, protecting justice and defending the Jushin Empire from both tyrants and thieves. They were called the Amen Osa, the Phantom Masters. But now Jushin has fallen, its kingdoms destroyed and its citizens left to the mercy of zombies, beasts and sadists. Yet from the ashes of destruction, a hero has appeared to defend the people. His name is unknown, and no man knows who he serves... but there are clues: the strange symbol he wears around his neck and the female living weapon he commands. Is he the last of the Amen Osa? Following in the aftermath of a terrible Demon-Human war, turn of the century Japan is preparing a new fighting force in case the demons decide to return. A squadron of giant robots are built to be controlled by the spirit of the pilot, but it is discovered that the only people with sufficient spirit are young women. After recruiting a team of youths from around the world, the Japanese government decides to keep them a secret by disguising them as a theater troupe, thus requiring them to spend as much time memorizing Shakespeare as they do on military training.

The Mad Scientist actually has come up with an incredible invention, and Jim has an unbelievable plan to use it to give Miss China the most beautiful ring in all the World.
