One Monday morning, a thousand children leave the suburb of Farsta and go to Stockholm to occupy the Royal Castle. The children have formed a group called S.O.P.O.R. as a protest against the way adults treat them and have destroyed their future. They demand that the robots in the industry are replaced by humans to create job opportunities. They take the royal family as hostages.

This is what the 2 main heroes of the film are doing. The one is a director(Giorgos) and the other an author(Kostas) with communistic ideas, who has won a prize at a festival. They both want to make a movie for the cinema. But every idea they have never comes true, because every time they meet someone to whom they tell their idea, they change their mind, and they want to make a totally different movie, ideas varying from political cinema to Greek historical dramas and modern films with motorcycle gangs. Not a bad attempt for the Greek cinema of the early 80's, which starts to wake up from the hibernation of the 70's.

La película se desarrolla en un pueblito postergado, Villaserena. Un día llega Abelardo (Darío Grandinetti) e instala una radio precaria alimentada por un generador. Los cuatro parlantes estratégicamente ubicados empiezan a pregonar lo que el pueblo alguna vez calló llegando a convertir a Villaserena en un infierno, hasta que sus habitantes deciden acabar con la fuente de todos sus problemas. Celina (otrora esposa del hombre más rico del lugar) y Gastón (primer actor de la compañia de actores ambulantes) huyen del pueblo dejando abandonada a Celeste (hija de Celina) que es una hermosa joven encerrada entre cuatro paredes por su padre. Se forma un triángulo amoroso entre Celeste, Abelardo y José (joven campesino). La historia está narrada por Oscar, otro singular personaje de Villaserena que va mezclando su fantasía con la realidad.
