Durante una Nochevieja, en un hotel de Los Ángeles, un botones es continuamente solicitado por los ocupantes de cuatro habitaciones. En una de ellas se han reunido unas brujas, en otra un hombre apunta con un revólver a su mujer, que está atada a la cama, en la tercera un gángster y su mujer le piden que cuide a sus hijos y en la cuarta dos hombres realizan una arriesgada apuesta.

En París, el amor está por todas partes: en sus bares y cafés, bajo la Torre Eiffel e incluso bajo tierra, en el metro. Algunos de los directores más prestigiosos del mundo fueron invitados a contar una historia ambientada en uno de los barrios de la ciudad.
