Sinopsis
El sueño de Ma Liang era ser artista, pero nunca tuvo la oportunidad de aprender el arte de la pintura, a pesar de que adora hacer dibujos. Por suerte, un día un misterioso anciano entrega al joven un pincel con propiedades mágicas y descubre que todo lo que pinta con él cobra vida. Con la ayuda de este instrumento, comienza a ayudar a todos los habitantes de su pequeño pueblo de Baihua. Al menos hasta que la vida del muchacho se complica, pues un malvado y ambicioso general descubre su existencia y se propone conseguir el pequeño tesoro a cualquier precio. Cuando lo logra, el pincel pierde todos sus poderes en sus manos. Por eso obliga a Ma a que dibuje por él una montaña de oro. Sin embargo, el chico tiene un plan muy diferente para evitar que el general logre ser el hombre más rico y poderoso del mundo. Zhong Zhixing escribe y dirige esta película de animación, que adapta un popular cuento chino.

Remake de una película de los años ochenta, que ahora se estrena con los cambios propios del cine actual. Los protagonistas son dos guerreros de la dinastía Ming que están luchando entre ellos. Algo pasa cuando lo hacen, pues los dos quedan congelados debido a lo que parece un accidente. Permanecen congelados durante siglos, hasta que despiertan en nuestros días, una sociedad que tiene poco que ver con la que ellos conocieron. Así, los dos van a continuar con la lucha en el mundo actual. Se tendrán que adaptar al nuevo mundo, pues la lucha ha cambiado mucho desde que ellos empezaron su pelea, ya que ahora hay armas de todo tipo. En la cinta se ven artes marciales mezcladas con ciencia ficción, por lo que gustará mucho a los amantes del cine de acción y de las artes marciales, un género que ahora no se prodiga mucho en el cine.

In this scene is shown a magician behind an ordinary table, upon which he suddenly and mysteriously causes to appear a large box, into which he leaps. The sides of the box fall to the ground, but instead of containing the magician a lively clown steps forth who further mystifies the audience by causing the box to disappear, and in its place is seen a fully laid table with a smoking dinner, to which the clown applies himself. The table, however, suddenly disappears much to the astonishment of the clown, who is confronted by the magician in the garb of Mephistopheles. This he suddenly changes to that of a sculptor, and in the background is seen a pedestal with the bust of a young lady, which comes to life as the sculptor applies the mallet and chisel.
