Sinopsis
A documentary on the Canela Apãniekra (Timbira) community in Brazil. Showing their daily habits, political struggle, oral tradition and the formation of space in Barra do Corda, Maranhão.
After being shot fleeing from a gunfight, the bandit Jaime falls to a riverbank, where is rescued by two beautiful young women. He becomes involved romantically with Dorothy, daughter of a farmer, and for her sake, surrenders to the police. Upon leaving the prison, Jaime has to face Xavier, a bloodthirsty villain who plans on taking revenge on Dorothy's father.
A short film of lovely poetic, observational elements and interviews with the famed samba singer/songwriter Nelson Antônio da Silva, whose adopted last name ‘Cavaquinho’ refers to the small guitar-like instrument that he played and used to compose his songs.
