La potion Astérix (2014)

La pequeña villa de Astérix y Obelix es el último lugar que queda fuera del control de Roma. Cuando el recaudador de impuestos Claudius Incorruptus no consigue el dinero de sus habitantes, el propio Julio César se acerca al lugar para ver qué hay de especial en ellos. El secreto es una poción mágica preparada por su druida Panoramix les da a todos una fuerza sobrehumana cuando la beben.

En el año 50 antes de Cristo toda la Galia ha sido ocupada por los romanos... ¿Toda? no; una pequeña aldea de irreductibles galos resiste incansable al invasor. En el campamento romano próximo de Petibonum, Caius Bonus está muy enfadado porque sus patrullas, cada vez que se encuentran con alguno de los habitantes del pequeño pueblo galo, son derrotadas y dispersadas. Ello es debido a que los galos toman una poción mágica que les hace invencibles, cuya fórmula secreta sólo es conocida por el druida Panoramix. Los romanos secuestran al druida, pero no consiguen que les revele la fórmula secreta. Entretanto, Astérix, que ha echado de menos a Panorámix, se introduce en el campamento romano para liberarle...

La directora de cine Rosa von Praunheim, procedente de Letonia, y especializada en cine documental, se acerca al universo creativo del famoso dibujante de cómics alemán Ralf Köning que, a finales de los ochenta, se hizo un hueco en el mundillo underground gracias a un trabajo con el que consiguió mucha repercusión internacional: "El hombre deseado" (que más tarde se convertiría en película). Köning otorgaba a sus viñetas un aire desinhibido y gamberro, hablaba de temas delicados sin ningún tipo de tapujos y se acercó a los tabúes (especialmente las relaciones homosexuales, la promiscuidad y el sida) aportando un toque de humor. El documental repasa su trayectoria y se adentra en las inquietudes del artista, en su proceso creativo, al mismo tiempo que el autor nos desvela las armas intelectuales que ha vertido en sus trabajos más célebres, así como su intención, desde que era joven de luchar contra la fachada moral de la sociedad biempensante a través de la sátira más afilada.

Estamos en el año 50 A.C. Toda la Galia está ocupada por los romanos… ¿Toda? ¡No! Una aldea poblada por irreductibles galos resiste todavía y detienen siempre al invasor. Exasperado por la situación, Julio César decide cambiar de táctica: como sus ejércitos han sido incapaces de imponerse por la fuerza, será la misma civilización romana la que se encargará de seducir a los bárbaros galos. Para ello, ordenará construir al lado de la aldea una lujosa residencia para romanos: “la residencia de los Dioses”. ¿Podrán nuestros amigos galos resistirse a la tentación del dinero y el confort romano? ¿La aldea se convertirá en una simple atracción turística? Astérix y Obélix tendrán que esforzarse para frustrar los planes del César.
