A Very Sordid Wedding (2017)

Chronicling one story of courage born out of the highly mediatized and controversial Prop 8 2008 election results in California. A Californian married gay couple and their two adopted children fight back against discrimination, ignorance and hate through home videos posted on their YouTube channel, Gay Family Values. As they pursue their American Dream, the opposing political, social and religious opinions that pervade society attempt to strip it from them.

Kenedi is in a huge debt after building a house for his family. He finds himself searching for any kind of work to support himself, for as little as 10 EUR per day, a scarce amount to help him relief his debt. Ultimately, Kenedi decides to look for money in sex business. Initially offering his services to older ladies and widows, he expands his 'business' to offer sex to wealthy men. When he finds out about new liberal European laws on gay marriages, Kenedi sees prospects in looking for a "marriage material", to renew his search for a legal status in EU. The opportunity arises during EXIT Music Festival, when he meets Max, a guy from Munich. But will their promising relationship bring the solution to Kenedi's problems?

Pim is unsatisfied with her man and when he chooses to leave her to study abroad, she makes sure all ties with him are cut. Enter another woman, Pat. The two women embark on a relationship almost too quickly. They go as far as having a wedding, in which Pat's parents refuse to attend.

In the spring of 2004, Massachusetts began the final battle of its journey towards legalizing same-sex marriage. This documentary follows a few local couples & their families through the months leading up to & shortly after that defining occasion in LGBTQ+ history, culminating in their respective weddings. Also includes interviews with active opponents attempting to discourage the movement (& failing, of course). Outraged at this letter, and to prevent Tony's impending deportation, the couple sued the U.S. government, filing the first federal lawsuit seeking equal treatment for a same-sex marriage in U.S. history. This tenacious story of love, marriage and immigration equality is as precedent setting as it is little known... until now.

Comenzó entonces una batalla legal sin precedentes hasta lograr que el Supremo desestimara el resultado del referéndum y reconociera el derecho constitucional de igualdad ante la ley. Filmado durante 5 años, este documental narra, desde el punto de vista de los que participaron en ella, la batalla legal que consiguió tumbar la Proposición 8 y permitió el reconocimiento del matrimonio entre parejas del mismo sexo en California.
