Manchester Arena Terror Attack Special (2017)

En 1976, Tony Wilson descubre que su verdadera vocación es la música. Funda un sello discográfico y se convierte en cazatalentos y promotor musical. Nace así la exitosa discográfica Factory Records de Manchester, de donde proceden grupos como Joy Division, New Order y Happy Mondays. Tony Wilson y sus amigos, tras asistir a un concierto de Sex Pistols, a finales de los años 70, elaboran un plan que cambia por completo el mundo de la música pop y convierte a Manchester en una ciudad famosa. Tras lanzar Factory Records, compran un local y ponen su propia discoteca (Hacienda), que se convierte en una de las más conocidas del mundo.

Después de un encuentro sexual con una mujer casada en un callejón en Mánchester que se convierte en una violación, Johnny Fletcher (David Thewlis) roba un coche y huye de su ciudad natal a Londres para buscar refugio en la casa de su ex novia, Louise (Lesley Sharp). Johnny es un hombre inteligente, educado y elocuente, pero con una profunda amargura y un pesimismo vital que siempre le mantiene al límite de una conducta sádica. En Londres seduce a la compañera de piso de Louise, Sophie (Katrin Cartlidge), antes de embarcarse en una odisea en la que compartirá sus días entre indigentes y personajes desesperados de los bajos fondos de la capital del Reino Unido.

One Love Manchester fue un concierto benéfico y un especial televisivo organizado por Ariana Grande tras el atentado del Manchester Arena. El concierto tuvo lugar el 4 de junio de 2017 en el Old Trafford Cricket Ground en Manchester y se emitió en vivo en las redes sociales y televisiones de todo el mundo. Al concierto asistieron más de 50.000 personas. Las estrellas invitadas incluían a Justin Bieber, The Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Niall Horan, Little Mix, Katy Perry, Take That, Pharrell Williams, Robbie Williams y Liam Gallagher.
