Es la primera vez que se publica en Blu-ray aquel concierto de 1983 en el Hammersmith Odeon londinense, grabación de la que se vendieron 38 millones de copias. Esta edición contiene el concierto original restaurado en alta definición y sonido 5.1, más dos actuaciones en televisión. La calidad de imagen no está a la altura de las grabaciones modernas de Blu-ray, ya que este concierto se grabó en película de 16mm en 1983, momento en que el mejor formato de vídeo casero era el LaserDisc y tenía menos resolución que los DVDs de hoy en día. En lo que todo el mundo está de acuerdo es que la ejecución y la mezcla de sonido son soberbios.

Among the artists featured in the movie are Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD), Magazine, The Go-Go's, Toyah Willcox, The Fleshtones, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, X, XTC, Devo, The Cramps, Oingo Boingo, Dead Kennedys, Gary Numan, Klaus Nomi, Wall of Voodoo, Pere Ubu, Steel Pulse, Surf Punks, 999, UB40, Echo & the Bunnymen and The Police. These were many of the most popular groups on the New Wave scene; in keeping with the spirit of the scene, the film also features several less famous acts, and one completely obscure group, Invisible Sex, in what appears to be their only public performance.

Taped for a two-part PBS Soundstage, Petty employs the Chicago locale as an entry into the blues and R&B that are at the foundation of rock & roll, and to a lesser extent, his music. In 1985, Dire Straits embarked on a world tour of unprecedented proportions. Promoting their hit album Brothers in Arms, the tour included a thirteen-night residence at Wembley Arena (featuring Eric Clapton helping out) and a brief jaunt at Live Aid (featuring Sting), before winding up in Australia in the Spring of 86. They ended with a 21-night stand at Sydney's Entertainment Center, packing the place every night, and wrapping it all up with one final show on April 26th. Featuring the one-off calypso version of "So Far Away" and an impromtu version of the Australian folk anthem "Walktzing Matilda" (with the whole stadium providing the vocals), it is truly a show for the ages.
