Sinopsis
El rey Midas recibe la visita de un elfo; el elfo convierte a su gato en oro, luego aplaude y vuelve a cambiar. Midas ruega por el toque dorado, pero el elfo le advierte que sería una maldición para él. Insiste Midas. Baila alegremente al principio, pero descubre los inconvenientes cuando se sienta a cenar. Temiendo morir de hambre, convoca al elfo y acepta entregar todo lo que posee para que se levante la maldición.
