To Oz! The Making of a Classic (2009)

La huérfana Dorothy Gale vive una vida sencilla en Kansas con su tía Emma Clara Blandick, su tío Henry y tres pintorescos peones: Hunk, Zeke y Hickory. Un día la severa vecina Miss Gulch es mordida por el perro de Dorothy, Toto. Miss Gulch se lo lleva, por orden del sheriff, a pesar de las apasionadas protestas de tía Emma y el tío Henry. Toto escapa y regresa junto a Dorothy, la cual se alegra momentáneamente, pero pronto se da cuenta de que Miss Gulch regresará. Decide llevarse a Toto y fugarse en busca de una vida mejor 'en algún lugar sobre el arco iris'.

Ozzy es un pequeño pero inteligente mono volador, hijo del legendario guerrero Goliat. Ambos son parte del ejército de monos voladores que sirve a Eveline; la malvada bruja del Oeste. El Mago de Oz (オズの魔法使い Ozu no Mahōtsukai?) es una película de anime coproducida entre Japón y Estados Unidos dirigida por Fumihiko Takayama a partir de un guion de Yoshimitsu Banno y Akira Miyazaki, que está basada en la novela de 1900 escrita por L. Frank Baum. Está producida por Yoshimitsu Banno y Katsumi Ueno para Toho. Aunque esta película no tiene ninguna relación con la serie anime de 1986 que produjo Panmedia, más allá de estar basada en el mismo libro, el hecho de que la película se estrenara en Japón el mismo año que la serie se emitió por primera vez (y el hecho de que ambas se publicaron también en Estados Unidos y Canadá) hace que los dos trabajos suelan confundirse.

In an effort to find an economic means of purifying salt water, a joint U.S.-Japanese military command is set up on an isolated Japanese island where an unusual salt water lake is situated. However, their purifying experiments arouse the prehistoric monster Obaki from hibernation at the lake's bottom, and it proceeds to attack Japan. Although made by a U.S. independent film company, this film was based on a Japanese Toho monster film of 1958, "Daikaiju Varan", from which all of the monster effects scenes and a few incidental dramatic shots were edited into it.

But when a psychopath wearing a wrestling mask begins butchering the teenage residents, their rehabilitation will become a no-holds-barred battle for survival. Originally filmed in 1994 but completed in 2019.

A century after the Wicked Witch, the Emerald City is at the mercy of a once-revered hero, and salvation comes from the wrench of young Victoria Wright. Rediscover old friends and meet new heroes in this new tale set in the Land of Oz.

A wicked king has taken over the Emerald City, and wants his daughter, Princess Gloria to marry the horrid courtier Googly-Goo, though she loves Pon, the Gardener's Boy. The camera follows two farmers placing a Scarecrow upon a pole in a cornfield. Pon rescues a Kansas girl named Dorothy from the evil witch Mombi, whom Princess Gloria has been taken to by King Krewl to freeze her heart so she will no longer love Pon. An Indian princess has a ceremony to bring the Scarecrow to life. Pon rescues the cold-hearted princess and they flee for help, discovering the Scarecrow, who promptly falls in love with the princess, and Button-Bright, a lost boy from America. They come to the castle of the Tin Emperor, Nick Chopper, and after oiling him, he falls in love with Gloria. After a bit of a chase aided by the Sawhorse and the Wizard, Mombi turns Pon into a Kangaroo, and a slough of Fred Woodward's animals battle it out.

A storybook opens to depict little Dorothy on the grey Kansas prairies, when suddenly a cyclone comes up, turns her world to color, and she lands on a Scarecrow, who promptly gets up and walks with her. Her dog Toto finds a woodcutter made of tin, so the Scarecrow oils him up and he accompanies them. They watch some animals reproduce before being ushered into the Emerald City by singing suits of armor and a lavish parade of overweight cops before meeting the Wizard, a devious little man who transforms eggs into uncontrollable forms, much to Billina's dismay.

It is well known in economics academia that The Wonderful Wizard of Oz written by L. Frank Baum in 1900 is loaded with powerful symbols of monetary reform which were the core of the Populist movement and the 1896 and 1900 president bid of Democrat William Jennings Bryan. The yellow brick road (gold standard), the emerald city of Oz (greenback money), even Dorothy’s silver slippers (changed to ruby slippers for the movie version) were the symbol of Baum’s and Bryan’s belief that adding silver coinage to gold would provide much needed money to a depression-strapped, 1890s America. We believe Baum’s symbols represent the only solution to relieve the growing economic hardship here in America – and the rest of the world. Practically speaking, 2009 marks the 70th anniversary of the 1939 MGM release of the The Wizard of Oz movie, so interest will be very high. Even Oz websites put up by kids get millions of hits.

The Nome Prince Otto finds one of his father's 1908 tunnels under Oz to the Emerald City. Boris, the Cowardly Lion's son, has accidentally released the hold on the display case of the magic belt, and Otto swipes it while the kids try to keep their parents from finding out what happened. When they try to retrieve the belt, Otto transforms them into ornaments in his father's favorite game, leaving Dot to discover who is who.
