Second Hand Rose (1922)

Dos jinetes llegan a Dodge City persiguiendo a un hombre. Es el Día de la Independencia, y la gente se arremolina en torno al premio del concurso de tiro, un rifle único: el Winchester 73. Lin McAdam, uno de los forasteros, gana el concurso y consigue el rifle, pero su contrincante Dutch Henry Brown se lo roba y huye. El rifle pasa a manos de un traficante de armas, luego a un jefe indio y más tarde a un forajido. Mientras tanto, continúa la persecución.

The five of them get caught up in a scheme involving the media, the mob, politicians and the police. And they definitely want to get the hell out of the city, probably to some Caribbean paradise.

A one-armed street peddler notices that a well-to-do man has dropped his ring. He returns it to him. The wealthy man is very grateful and, to show his appreciation, takes the peddler to a 'Limb Store', where he buys him a new arm. The recipient soon discovers that this new arm has a will of its own - causing him considerable embarrassment.

Two peasant children are taken by a fairy one night to a different world where they can see what lies behind ordinary household things, animals, and feelings. 1970's animation feature "The Blue Bird" is the only film, directed by cult Soviet actor Vasiliy Livanov. Based on a piece by Maurice Maeterlinck, this movie combines different techniques - from classic drawn animation, to cut-outs and stop-motion, creating a unique cinematic experience.

Sadly, it is among the lost. No prints or negatives are known to survive.

This film earned an Oscar nomination for Sound Recording. It is the only film nominated in this category that is among the lost. No negative or print material is known to have survived. Contemporary reviews were scathing, describing the film as a vastly overlong and boring talk-fest.

Lo malo es que no sólo se van convirtiendo en oro las cosas que toca sino también las personas que ama e incluso partes de su propio cuerpo. The circus provides the backdrop for this melodrama that chronicles the lives of four children raised within the big top. Film historian and collector William K. Everson stated that the only surviving print was lost by actress Mary Duncan who had borrowed it from Fox Studios. In the December 1974 issue of "Films in Review," he explained that Mary Duncan, one of the film's stars, wanted it to show to a group of friends in Florida. The star was aware that it was a dangerous nitrate print and assumed that Fox had others. She threw the only copy in the ocean, a mistake characterized by Everson as "a monumental blunder to rank with Balaclava, Sarajevo, and the Fall of Babylon as one of history's blackest moments."
