Notre-Dame de Paris, l'épreuve des siècles (2019)

Siglo XIX. En medio de los montes de los Cárpatos está la misteriosa y mítica Transilvania, donde el mal siempre está presente, el peligro aparece cuando el sol se pone... y donde toman forma los monstruos que habitan las pesadillas de los hombres.

Oculto a las miradas de todos los ciudadanos de París, en lo alto del campanario de la catedral de Notre Dame, vive Quasimodo. Su tutor, el juez Frollo, no le permite bajar nunca del Campanario. En compañía de tres simpáticas gárgolas de piedra, Victor, Hugo y Laverne, Quasimodo pasa las horas observando el bullicioso ir y venir de la gente. Hasta que un día, decide bajar a escondidas y conoce a la bella Esmeralda, con la que vivirá su mayor aventura.

Charles Lampert, buscado por el gobierno de los Estados Unidos bajo la acusacion de haberse apoderado de un cuarto de millón de dólares en oro del fondo federal suma entregada a Charles y a cuatro compañeros de armas de éste, durante la guerra, para ayudar a la Resistencia francesa es asesinado cuando viajaba en tren en las proximidades de Burdeos. La esposa de Lampert -Regine- es sometida a vigilancia en Paris no solo por miembros de la embajada americana, sino por los individuos a los que Charles defraudó y que acusan a Regine de ocultar el dinero. Pero Regine es ajena, al parecer, a toda la maniobra montada por su difunto esposo.

París, Francia, 1482. El juez Frollo, al servicio del benévolo rey Luis XI, se enamora de Esmeralda, una joven gitana. El jorobado Quasimodo, protegido de Frollo y campanero de Notre Dame, vive en paz entre las campanas, en las alturas de la inmensa catedral, hasta que el retorcido magistrado lo involucra en sus maliciosos planes, desesperado por liberarse del supuesto hechizo de Esmeralda, que él cree que es obra del diablo.

Documental sobre la hazaña del funambulista francés Philippe Petit que, el 7 de agosto de 1974, logró de manera ilegal caminar sobre un alambre tendido entre las torres gemelas del World Trade Center de Nueva York. Culminada la proeza, fue arrestado por la policía, pero la exhibición fue considerada por algunos "el crimen artístico del siglo".

Dino es un gato que lleva una doble vida. De día, vive con Zoé, la única hija de Jeanne, una comisaria de policía. De noche, en cambio, se pasea por los tejados de París con Nico, un avezado ladrón. Jeanne no puede más: no sólo tiene que perseguir al intrépido compañero de Dino, autor de varios robos de joyas; sino que además debe vigilar el Coloso de Nairobi, una gigantesca estatua codiciada por Víctor Costa, el culpable de la muerte de un policía, marido de Jeanne y padre de Zoé, encerrada desde entonces en un mutismo total. Los sucesos se precipitan la noche en que Zoé sorprende a Costa y su banda. Se inicia entonces una persecución hasta los tejados de la catedral de Nôtre-Dame.

Notre Dame de Paris tells the story of Quasimodo, the hunchbacked bell-ringer of the cathedral of Notre-Dame and of his impossible and tragic love for Esmeralda, a beautiful gypsy. A love condemned by injustice and hypocrisy. Quasimodo forced by his ugliness to look at the world from the top of a tower one day he falls madly in love with Esmeralda who sees dancing and singing on the square in front of the cathedral. But Esmeralda is in love with Febo, the handsome captain of the King's guards. Febo is fiancé of Fiordaliso, a young and rich bourgeois, but the exotic and sensual beauty of the gypsy does not leave indifferent the man who immediately falls in love with her. Even Frollo, the archdeacon of the cathedral, is attracted by the gypsy and spying on the moves of the two lovers in a raptus of jealousy and repressed carnal desire to get rid of the rival stabbing Febo behind.
