Loop (2019)

Cuando una pareja regresa de la boda de unos amigos, estalla una violenta tormenta y el coche se les avería. Así las cosas, no tienen más remedio que refugiarse en un castillo, donde el doctor Frank-N-Furter vive entregado a la fabricación de una especie de Frankenstein.

En un futuro no muy lejano, invade la Tierra una raza de extraterrestres invencibles. Al comandante William Cage, un oficial que nunca ha entrado en combate, le encargan una misión casi suicida y resulta muerto. Entra entonces en un bucle temporal, en el que se ve obligado a luchar y morir una y otra vez. Pero las múltiples batallas que libra lo hacen cada vez más hábil y eficaz en su lucha contra los alienígenas. Su compañera de combate es Rita Vrataski, una guerrera de las Fuerzas Especiales. Phil, hombre del tiempo de una cadena de televisión, es enviado un año más a Punxstawnwey, a cubrir la información del festival de El día de la marmota. En el viaje de regreso, Phil y su equipo se ven sorprendidos por una tormenta que les obliga a regresar a la pequeña ciudad. A la mañana siguiente, al levantarse, Phil escucha en el radiodespertador el mismo programa que la mañana anterior.

Henry (Ryan Gosling), un joven mentalmente perturbado, le anuncia a Sam Forster, su psiquiatra (Ewan McGregor), que piensa suicidarse en un plazo de tres días, cosa que el psiquiatra intentará evitar. Por su parte, Henry se dedica a enturbiar la relación de Sam con su novia Lila (Naomi Watts), pintora y antigua paciente suya. Poco a poco, la sólida y arraigada racionalidad de Sam empieza a tambalearse. Sometido a situaciones cada vez más surrealistas, llega un momento en que ya no puede distinguir entre realidad y ficción, y su yo y el de Henry se confunden.
