Sinopsis
Al acabar la Segunda Guerra Mundial (1939-1945), el Mayor Ferris (William Holden), un oficial norteamericano, decide abandonar el ejército y quedarse en Malasia para dedicarse al cultivo de una plantación. Vive con su novia Dhana (Capucine), una bella nativa que conoció durante la guerra. Años después, el ejército británico trata de convencerlo para que le ayude a capturar a un antiguo compañero de la resistencia (Ng,Tetsuro Tamba) que se ha convertido en uno de los líderes más activos del movimiento guerrillero comunista y que ha secuestrado a Candace Trumpey (Susannah York), hija de un colono británico.

The children communicate with him in German and the valley of peace seems like the last paradise place of refuge. The Slovene boy, the German girl, and the American pilot represent a symbolic triangle of peace in this adventure happening in the middle of the War of Liberation.
