Fan reaction to Criss and Frehley at the Unplugged show was so positive that, in 1996, the original lineup of Kiss reunited, with all four original members together for the first time since 1980. It also marked the only time the original lineup performed live without their trademark makeup, other than at Ace Frehley's wedding, and was also the only time Frehley and Criss shared a stage with Eric Singer and Bruce Kulick. Placebo: MTV Unplugged
Sting: MTV Unplugged
This video is the MTV Unplugged performance which was recorded in New York on 5 March 1991. The difference between the version screened on MTV and this release however, is the inclusion of an additional song and interview. Whereas the MTV show concentrated on pre-'Soul Cages' songs, on this release you get excellent performances of 'Why Should I Cry For You' and 'The Wild Wild Sea'. As proved to be the case with the VH1 Storytellers show, Sting enjoyed himself so much doing the acoustic set, that the following month he did a similar set in his home town of Newcastle at the tiny Buddle Arts Centre. The Unplugged video is very interesting though and the songs performed work extremely well in their stripped down versions. Set List: 1. All This Time; 2. Mad About You; 3. Every Breath You Take; 4. Why Should I Cry For You?; 5. Message In A Bottle; 6. Tea In The Sahara; 7. Walking On The Moon; 8. The Wild Wild Sea

In 1994, it reached 13 on the Billboard 200.
Adele: VH1 Unplugged
Earlier this month Adele stopped by a studio in Harlem to perform a six-song set for VH1 Unplugged. We have the song known as “The Contradictions Track,” which is “(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman,” in advance of the show’s online premiere March 3. It may seem like a dangerous move for any singer to cover Aretha Franklin. Is there a more surefire way to feel inadequate? But Adele smartly introduced the song by saying she wouldn’t attempt to reinterpret it. While we agree with her sentiment (and respect for Aretha), turns out no disclaimer was needed. Listening up-close to Adele’s mellow but true rendition, which required only minimal guitar and keys, it seemed to us there is no one Adele can’t cover with her powerful, nuanced singing.
Florence and the Machine: MTV Unplugged
This 2012 release finds the British band stripping down their heavenly sound to the divine essentials. This marks a landmark milestone for Florence + the Machine. Not only is she continuing a tradition popularised by legends including Paul McCartney, Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill and Oasis, she's bringing listeners even closer to her rapturous sound in an acoustic setting. This special night was recorded in New York City.
