Sinopsis

'Una declaración de amor' indaga profundamente en lo que ocurre a nivel personal cuando alguien sobrevive a la experiencia del corredor de la muerte. El documental dirigido por Marco Speroni gira en torno a Curtis McCarty, que fue condenado en 1985 por un crimen que no cometió. Tras la sentencia errónea, pasó 22 años en prisión, de los cuales 19 esperando a ser ejecutado, viviendo bajo tierra en una habitación sin ventanas en la prisión estatal de Oklahoma. En 2007 fue exonerado y puesto en libertad. Al salir, su vida se derrumbó a falta de un sistema de apoyo, lo que le llevó a quedar sin techo y caer en las drogas. La historia de Curtis sirve para arrojar luz sobre un sistema fallido que llevó a que un hombre se perdiera en un mundo al que ya no pertenecía.
