Mientras Scrat juguetea por el hielo con su bellota, ve de pronto una luz verde que lo asusta. Después de excavar, desentierra una máquina del tiempo y un científico congelado. Accidentalmente Scrat activa la máquina, y la bellota queda atrapada. Empieza entonces a sacudir el artefacto para encontrar la bellota, pero la máquina lo teletransporta a la Edad Media. Scrat encuentra Scalibur, la espada del rey Arturo, y con ella consigue recuperar su bellota. Acto seguido, es atacado por un grupo armado con flechas; a partir de ahí comienza un vertiginoso viaje a distintas etapas de la historia...
