In the harbor city of Le Havre, France, a woman is stabbed during the night, just below the windows of her neighborhood. Pierre (Yvan Attal) has witnessed the murder, and heard the wails of the women crying for help. So have the neighbors, certainly. But at the end, nobody called the police. Pascal es un policía de Grenoble, casado con Agnès, profesora y adicta a la morfina, y se sirve de sus contactos para conseguirle la droga. Pascal, cansado de ser un instrumento al servicio de la adicción de su mujer, se enamora de Cécile mientras Agnès descubre a Bruno en la residencia de vacaciones de ésta, y logra que le proporcione la droga... Es parte de una Trilogía estrenada a la vez junto con Una pareja perfecta y Escapando. La acción se desarrolla en la misma ciudad, en el mismo periodo de tiempo y con los mismos personajes. Aunque con diversos puntos de vista y distinto ambiente narrativo.

While France is on strike, Jean, a Parisian bookseller, opens his shop. A former trade unionist, he has in fact decided not to take part in the movement. However, a phone call from his friend René awakens his enthusiasm.

When he stops to pick up Russian emigree hitchhiker Nino, Paco soon finds himself on the side of the road with everything stolen out from under him.
