Naoko chooses Haru to be the lead as she leverages her power as director to pursue the romantic connection that fuels her voracious creativity. However, as opening night approaches, jealous entanglements threaten the artistic and ideological aims of the project, as well as the relationship with Haru pulling Naoko from her womanizing ways. For her, who lost her father at an early age and protected her sick mother and sister, it was her dream and a tribute to her mother. However, Saori finds out that her mother has no life expectancy and participates in an audition as her last chance.

Tomohiro takes his fiance Machiko to his hometown of Aridagawa in Wakayama Prefecture to see his family.Tomohiro’s family includes three siblings. His younger brother Takeshi refuses to go to school. His older sister Yumi isn't interested in their family. Younger sister Sayaka has an inferiority complex and has a fear of dating. There's also Satomi who everybody calls Mama and she does all of the housework. Kayoko is called Kaka and she works as a snack bar manager. Narumi is called Haha and she is a high school teacher. Finally, there's their father Shoichiro better known as Chichi. It's an unusual family, but able to exist in harmony. Due to Machiko's appearance, the family becomes shaken.

De esta manera, se construye una antología de cadáveres exquisitos que supone, sin ninguna duda, uno de los proyectos más ambiciosos que el género ha conocido en toda su historia cinematográfica (no en vano, la producción ha atravesado quince países diferentes). El objetivo: ofrecer una panorámica ora divertida, ora siniestra, que sirva para definir todo aquello que le ha ocurrido al terror en los últimos diez años.

Cargada de culpa por el suicidio de su hermana Ai, atormentada por los matones de la escuela secundaria, Megu acompaña a un grupo de amigos mayores en un viaje de campamento al bosque: la chica inteligente Aya, su novio drogado Také, el modelo Maki y el nerd Naoi. Las cosas empiezan a ir mal cuando Maki encuentra un gusano-parásito dentro de un pez que capturan y lo engulle con vida. Poco después, y no tan inesperadamente en situaciones como esta, aparecen zombies y comienzan a complicar las cosas aún más.
