The film follows the adventures of Baron Munchausen, who is prompted to travel to the moon by his cousin Sirius, an astrologer convinced that it is inhabited by an ancient race called the Selenites. The Selentites incidentally possess the secret of immortality. The Baron takes up his cousin's offer and travels to the moon using a tall masted ship pulled by three hot air balloons and he is aided by his super-ability friends (who are from the prequel to this film, The Fabulous Adventures of the Legendary Baron Munchausen). When they reach the moon, they are initially placed in jeopardy as their craft lands in a crater and they fall into a subterranean sea inhabited by monsters...

El Barón Munchausen, personaje aventurero y atrevido, tiene por costumbre reunir en grandes banquetes a sus mejores amigos, para contarles maravillosas aventuras, como la de la liebre de ocho patas, la del ciervo que ve crecer un cerezo en medio de sus astas o la vez que cazó una bandada de patos con trozos de tocino. Sin embargo la gran aventura del Barón da comienzo ahora, cuando un mensajero del Rey llega para confiarle una misión muy delicada. Munchausen debe llevar sano y salvo un inestimable regalo a Joinana-Pacha, soberano de Trukesbán un exótico y lejano país.

Joe sees two boys attacking a beehive. As thanks for his intervention, he gets stung by a bee, which makes him shrink down to their size, and he is allowed to spend some time with them. He not only gets an insight to their fascinating world, there are also many exciting adventures waiting for him, a lot of them involving the bees arch enemies, the evil wasps.

At one point, the Magician character tells the story of his travels to China, India and Persia and we see a montage of these adventures and it's kind of interesting because of the way it invokes other cultures of the era. There is some unnecessary padding throughout as characters break into songs that do nothing but tell parts of Once upon a time, somewhere in Africa, a local magician dreamed of owning the Magic Lamp. Thanks to a Magic Ball he learned that the Lamp could be found in an Asian village and that only the innocent hand of a young person could snatch it. He traveled to the place, a village called Three Hill City, close to the Chinese border. There lived Aladdin

Johnny and his friends embark on a journey to rid their land of an evil giant. While inside the giant's castle, the children are trapped by the giant and put through a magical shrinking machine. Johnny narrowly escapes the castle, but he is now the size of a small insect. Johnny will find that the world of insects is no picnic. The bees are feuding with the hornets, and Johnny is right in the middle of it. Johnny must now gain the trust of the insects to help him rescue his friends from the giant. Can he do it in time?
