Rodolfo Guerra, father of three daughters, wakes up one morning and decides he will not go to work; he is tired of being mistreated by his wife. La película narra la historia de Catalina Guzmán de Ascencio, quien lucha contra la opresión de su esposo, el general Andrés Ascencio, en el México de los años 1930.
