A young inventor has constructed a television set. His landlady has become very skeptical of both him and his invention, perhaps mainly due to the fact that he is constantly broke and hasn't paid the rent in months. Adding to the irritation is that the hostess's daughter loves the young man and is trying to convince her employer, the director, to finance the whole thing. The director wants both her and the television set, but his evil investment doesn't come to fruition thanks to the latter.

Brett's home, he finds an old miniature of a woman who exactly resembles Nancy, whom Cail rescued from a wrecked boat when she was just a year old. Soon after the robbery, Harry learns that the police are about to raid Cail's house, but Silas knocks him unconscious when he attempts to warn Nancy.

Through his mirror vocograph The Wolf learns that Marguerite is carrying the codebook with her to a reception at the home of Col. West. The Wolf and his confederate there make a strenuous effort to secure the valued book but they are frustrated by Fred Randall, Marguerite's sweetheart, and all ends well when the soldiers of the fort pursuing. The Wolf engages in a skirmish in which the international crook is killed and his confederate captured.
