Isabel y Tom Schubert están pasando una crisis matrimonial debido a los celos de él. Ambos deciden concederse una nueva oportunidad y viajar a Phuket, en Tailandia, donde les espera Julia, una amiga de Isabel a la que Tom no soporta. La pareja tiene una fuerte discusión y ella decide irse con Julia durante unos días, periodo en el que vive un romance con un atractivo arquitecto.
Anabel (Lisa Martinek) apparently has everything a woman could want: a well-paid husband Dirk (Tim Bergmann), a nice apartment, good friends and an antique shop to keep her busy. The only thing missing is a child, but she can't have one because she accidentally finds out that her husband is sterile. She keeps her husband in the dark about her discovery of his shortcoming, who on the contrary assumes Anabel is incapable of conceiving. One day her pragmatic friend Lissi (Antje Schmidt) comes up with the idea that Anabel could get impregnated by another man and lie to her husband about the paternity of the child.
Pauline is very disappointed by her boyfriend. Fearing lonely holidays, she accepts her boss Max's invitation to celebrate white Christmas in his parents' mountain hut. It is taken for granted that she is Max's girlfriend. He enjoys the misunderstanding and asks Pauline to play along.
